Frequently Asked Questions

Get quick answers to the most common questions about our services and mission. We're here to help you understand how we can support your family's journey.

Do you charge for your services?

No. Our services are always free for seniors and their families. We are compensated by senior living communities for the time and resources we invest in educating families and supporting the placement process. This compensation does not influence the referrals we provide. Every referral is based solely on your loved one's needs, preferences, timeline, and budget. Our goal is to ensure that any options presented are appropriate, well-suited, and genuinely in your family's best interest.

How long does the placement process take?

While families often spend months searching on their own, our average placement takes just 8 to 10 days from the initial consultation to a confident decision. And when urgent situations arise, even on weekends, we can typically coordinate suitable options and schedule tours by the following Monday. Your timeline will depend on your loved one's needs and how quickly you'd like to move forward with tours and decisions, but we guide you every step of the way.

Do you work with all types of senior living?

Yes! We work with assisted living communities, memory care facilities, independent living, board & care homes, and continuing care retirement communities. We help you understand the differences and find the right type of care for your situation.

What if we don't love the first communities you refer?

No problem at all. We'll keep searching until we find the right fit. Your comfort and confidence are our top priorities, and we'll continue refining options with you as long as needed. We typically start by presenting 3–5 communities that align closely with your criteria, and we adjust from there based on your feedback.

What types of payment do senior living communities accept?

Most senior living communities accept the following payment methods:

  • Private Pay (Out of Pocket) - Personal funds or family contributions
  • Long Term Care Insurance - Coverage through private insurance policies
  • Veteran's Aid and Attendance - VA benefits for eligible veterans and their spouses

Are there any low income options for senior living?

We understand that senior care can be expensive, and we want to be as transparent and supportive as possible. Most of the communities we partner with lean towards private-pay and typically start around $3,500 per month. If private-pay options aren't the right fit, you still have resources—and we're happy to point you in the right direction. Families looking for low-income or subsidized senior housing can explore local affordable housing programs and social services programs provided by local governments and non-profits. While these options are outside of our direct placement partnerships, we're always here to offer compassion, clarity, and direction as you navigate next steps for your loved one.

Is Medicaid accepted by the communities you work with?

Most of the communities we partner with do not accept Medicaid directly. However, some do offer "spend-down" options, where a resident begins as private-pay and may transition to Medicaid once their assets are depleted.

It's important to know that Medicaid-designated beds are extremely limited, and many communities maintain waitlists for these spots. We're always happy to explain these options and help you understand what might be available for your loved one.

Is there a required deposit to secure a spot in a community?

In most cases, yes. Communities typically request a deposit to reserve a room if your loved one is not yet ready to move in. This ensures the space is held for the agreed-upon date.

Is there a community fee when moving in?

Most larger communities do charge a one-time community fee which is sometimes called an entrance fee. The amount varies by community and is typically used to cover onboarding, preparation, and move-in related costs.

Do you work with placining seniors in nursing homes or skilled nursing facilities?

At this time, we do not assist with Nursing Home placements. For more information you can visit Medicare.gov, which provides a comprehensive, up-to-date list of Nursing Homes with detailed information to help guide your search.
