Our experience and free assisted living placement service provides guidance, clarity, and peace of mind when you need it most. Steps to find the perfect care in our local community:
We're proud to be a local San Francisco and Peninsula team, not a national chain. As former California-licensed assisted living directors, administrators, & caregivers, we understand how overwhelming this decision can be. We prefer to meet in person when possible and learn about your loved one's health, preferences, history, and goals and then create a personalized plan that fits your family's needs and priorities. There's never a fee for our placement assistance service.
Before we refer a community, we visit it personally, noting what each community truly offers. We check each community's standing with local and state agencies, confirm quality and safety, and identify 3–5 options that best match your loved one's care needs, lifestyle, and budget. Then, we coordinate and schedule tours on your behalf while saving you hours of time and stress.
When it's time to tour, we go with you and help you ask the right questions. We advocate for your family, offer honest, objective insight, and ensure you feel confident in your choices every step of the way. Our goal is simple: clarity, comfort, affordability, and confidence for every family we serve.
Once you've chosen a community, we prep you with our move-in checklist, coordinate with community to complete the LIC 602A Physician's Report, additional ease-of-transition services, and provide ongoing support through move-in.
Our commitment doesn't stop at move-in. We continue to be available and can be contacted at any time. We continue the process by completing check-ins at 30, 90, and 180 days to ensure your loved one is adjusting well and that your family remains supported. Our relationship does not end at move-in, and we remain a steady partner to your family, ensuring your loved one continues to feel cared for and truly at home.

The average cost for assisted living is $6,000/month in San Francisco and along the San Mateo Peninsula
The reality is that costs vary deeply by numerous factors including the specific level of care needed, location, amenities, and more. The starting rate can be $4,000 at one community and it could start at $8,000 elsewhere. Our care consultants can assist in finding quality options while working on your budget.
Assisted living provides help with activities of daily living aka ADL's (includingbathing, dressing, meals, laundry, medication management) in a communal or home setting, while nursing homes offer 24/7 skilled medical care for those that require ongoing skilled treatment. Assisted living is for seniors who need daily help but are generally healthy, while nursing homes are for those with complex medical needs requiring round the clock medical supervision.
The right care type depends on your loved one's health needs, level of independence, and personal preferences. Consider factors like medical requirements, daily assistance needs, ability to transfer between sitting/standing/restroom, social preferences, and budget. Our care consultants can help assess your situation through a comprehensive evaluation and refer you to the best options based on your specific circumstances.
The timeline varies based on your needs and urgency. For non-emergency situations, the process takes 2-4 weeks from initial consultation to move-in. For emergency placements, we can often find solutions within 24-48 hours. Our local knowledge and relationships with communities help expedite the process significantly.
Look for cleanliness, staff friendliness and attentiveness, resident engagement in activities, safety features, meal quality, and overall atmosphere. Ask about staff, training, emergency procedures, and how they handle medical emergencies. Our consultants accompany you on tours and help you ask the right questions to make an informed decision.
